There has been some confusion lately regarding which workshops were critiques or publisher pitches. The BMI Workshop page at www.jasonblume.com will always have the latest updates. Here’s the current schedule:
April 5th will be critiques, May 10th will have a publisher, and June 21st will be critiques. (But note: this is always subject to change based on publishers’ availability.)
The dates for the next year of workshops should be posted atwww.jasonblume.com by early June.
The lecture topic will be “The Secrets of Successful Demos”
- Evaluating Demos of Hit Songs
- Learning How and When to Record a Demo
- Identifying What’s Right for Your Song
- Estimating Appropriate Budgets
- Considerations when Pitching Demos for TV/Film
SONG CRITIQUES
(Following the lecture each participant will have
an opportunity to have one of their songs constructively critiqued)
if you’d like to have a song critiqued bring a lyric sheet — and a copy of the song on CD (a rough recording is fine) — or be prepared to perform the song live
