Congratulations to Songsinc and their new website for “creative collaboration”

Often Cosmo’s universe expands when ideas intersect with action – such is the story of Songsinc.  Please congratulate co-founders Andrea Standley and Gia De Santis for bringing their music business ideas into form with Songsinc in less than 4 years.  If you have not heard of Songsinc through our songwriter organizations whose members are already signed up with them, maybe now’s the time to check it out. – Toni K.

“Every songwriter on the planet is irked
by their own pile of incomplete songs
that sit…unheard…unfinished.
Songsinc helps these incomplete
efforts get a second chance.”

Some of the top names in songwriting and music publishing from around the world are part of the Songsinc community and available to all members. Additionally, music and publishing companies are already re-monetizing their existing catalogs with material offered on the site.

Songsinc is also a support network, staffed by people who are passionate about music and improving the lives of musicians while bringing them together to reach new audiences and create a special magic that is unmatched by any other art form. As a collective of songwriters, musicians, creative artists, tech wizards, and business veterans, this team of passionate professionals is committed to making Songsinc the place for every musician, songwriter, or lyricist to reach new heights.

In a world that’s seen too much of the industry go from a business overseen by genuine lovers of music to corporate bean-counters without artistic vision, Songsinc has been created, developed and nurtured by genuine fans of music who have spent their lives working to bring the vision of all manner of artists to the audiences they so deserve.

That’s what Songsinc is all about: the possibilities to create collaborate and inspire. And it begins with a song.

“Songsinc is a beautiful and refreshing new business model in an industry that is being overtaken by fear and an urgency to grab ever shrinking pieces of the pie. The collaboration model is something that is essential to the music industry and Songsinc, regardless of its future dividends, serves as a powerful reminder of how earnest that model can be. The ideals of the principals have carried over into Songsinc creating a model based on partnership, support and prosperity. It has truly been an honor to produce for Songsinc.” – Scott G. – Studio Owner, Producer/Engineer/Composer, ASCAP

A Word from the Songsinc Team

“We’re excited to announce the launch of our redesigned Songsinc site – complete with new features, new services to help our members, and new membership plans with updated terms and conditions. One of the most exciting changes is a reduction in the costs of our download fees, giving our songwriter and lyricist members a more affordable opportunity to download tracks to write great songs with. We’re just as thrilled about what’s coming in 2011: New promotions to help members get noticed; unique opportunities for members to collaborate with well know songwriters and artists; thousands of great new tracks from songwriters, artists and musicians, both Indie and PRO; and a new blog feature to connect directly with Music Industry Professionals, spearheaded by Jonathan Stone, one of the leading figures in the world of music publishing and an advisor for Songsinc. Be sure to connect with Jonathan in The Stone Zone coming in January 2011.”

When the thought strikes...

Andrea Standley – Founder, COO
Songsinc was founded by COO Andrea Standley, a music industry and label veteran who began her career at Warner Brothers Records in areas of marketing, promotion, video, and production. Once she was named Director of System Analysis, Andrea was instrumental in designing many of the data systems still in use today by the giant label. She initiated and provided much of the analysis and report designs in the development of one of the company’s first department computer network systems, then took that extensive knowledge of the music industry and the internal data programs to conceive and create Songsinc.

And as it’s said, she’s not just the founder; she’s also a prolific songwriter.

working with the artist

Gia DeSantis – Co-Founder, President of Artist and Community Relations
Company co-founder and President of Artist and Community Relations, Gia DeSantis knows what it’s like to be at the forefront of blossoming artists. She’s worked behind the scenes, in front of the camera and behind the microphone as well. As a 15+ year music and entertainment industry veteran, DeSantis is the former Director of Marketing & Artist Relations at Capitol Records and was Director of Video Promotions at Reprise Records. DeSantis was a Music Correspondent for the E! Channel; President and Owner of Pretty Mouthy Marketing, an independent marketing and promotions company contracted by the biggest firms in the business: Warner Bros. Records, Disney, Sony, Universal Music Group, as well as other artist management firms and independent labels.

Her incredible journey began as DJ for Los Angeles modern rock powerhouse radio station KROQ and as Producer and Host of the Southern California music video program “Request Video,” considered by many a pre-cursor to MTV’s successful TRL program.
